“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
Because of how my blog schedule has worked out this year, my Advent reflection on love and Christmas Day arrive together. It’s a bit unplanned, but it feels just right—because love is exactly where Advent has been guiding us all along.
Throughout Advent, we’ve been preparing our hearts—waiting, reflecting, and making room. We started with hope ,leaned into peace, rejoiced in joy, and now we arrive at love. Love isn’t just the final theme of Advent; it’s the fulfillment of every promise we’ve been holding onto.
Isaiah’s words remind us that God’s greatest expression of love didn’t arrive with fanfare, but with humility. Love entered the world quietly, wrapped in flesh, resting in a manger.
Advent love isn’t sentimental or superficial. It is sacrificial and purposeful. God loved us enough to come close. The child born in Bethlehem is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace—yet He first came as an infant, so we would never doubt His closeness.
Christmas Day isn’t a break from the Advent journey; it’s the fulfillment. Love has been guiding us all along. Every moment of waiting, reflection, and longing finds its meaning here.
As you celebrate today, may your heart find comfort in the truth that God deeply loves you. May His peace cover your home, His joy fill your spirit, and His love keep you grounded in the days ahead.
Merry Christmas!
Love has come—and He is with us.
