“As I lay in the ICU that first night, I cried out to a God I had heard of all my life but had never really known. I gave my life to Christ, and I experienced a newness of life deep within me that is difficult to put into words. Second Corinthians 5:17 tells it best: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (Ultimate Pursuit, Chapter 5)
As we step into a new year, we often reflect on the past—its triumphs, its challenges, and the lessons it taught. For me, the turning point in my life didn’t come quietly; it came in the ICU, a place of uncertainty and fear. As I lay there that first night, I cried out to a God I had heard of all my life but had never really known.
In that moment, everything changed. I gave my life to Christ and experienced a newness that’s hard to describe. It wasn’t just a feeling—it was a profound transformation deep within my soul. Second Corinthians 5:17 captures it perfectly:
As we enter this New Year, I am reminded that it’s never too late for new beginnings. God offers each of us the chance to let go of what no longer serves us and embrace the fresh, abundant life He promises.
This year, may you step forward with hope, courage, and faith in the One who makes all things new. Your past does not define you—what matters is the new life you have in Christ.
Happy New Year! May it be filled with renewal, joy, and the peace of His presence.
