“We were created to follow God and acknowledge His presence in everything. This is the foundation of the greatest commandment. We are designed to pursue Him wholeheartedly. This pursuit pulls the rest of our lives together. What we seek becomes primary in life, and everything else falls into place behind that priority. Seeking God’s Kingdom first creates the capacity for everything else to follow.”
Excerpt from Chapter One — Ultimate Pursuit: Love God, Love People
There’s something beautiful about discovering that life makes the most sense when God comes first. Mark 12:30–31 reminds us that we were never meant to wander but to walk in step with Him—acknowledging His presence in everything.
When our hearts align with this pursuit, everything else falls into its rightful order. Life doesn’t fall apart when we put God first—it falls into place.
These words of Jesus call us back to our original design: to pursue Him wholeheartedly and to recognize His presence in all things. This isn’t just a spiritual discipline—it’s the pathway to wholeness.
Jesus gives us a life-changing reminder in Matthew 6:33: what we seek first determines the direction of everything else. What we pursue shapes who we become. As you walk through this week, my prayer is that your pursuit of God will set the rhythm for everything else.
Mark 12:30-31 (NLT)
“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
“Seek the Kingdom of Godabove all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
