For Such a Time as This

There are seasons in life when we wonder why we’re where we are. Things don’t always make sense, and it’s easy to feel small or uncertain. Yet the story of Queen Esther reminds us that nothing in God’s plan is accidental.

When Mordecai said to Esther, “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” he helped her see that her position was not by chance—it was part of God’s divine purpose.

God had placed her exactly where she was so He could use her life to make a difference.

I’ve experienced this truth firsthand. Through adoption, our youngest son joined our family at 22 months old. My husband and I were no longer “spring chickens,” and his older siblings were already grown or nearly grown. As a mother, I sometimes wondered whether we were depriving him of the energy that comes with younger parents or siblings closer in age. Over time, however, God gently reminded me that He intentionally chose us for our son’s journey.

Esther’s story teaches us the same lesson. She wasn’t chosen by chance—God positioned her to bring deliverance. In the same way, God has placed each of us exactly where we are for a purpose.

Whether in your family, workplace, ministry, or community, your obedience in this season matters. You may not see the full picture, but God does. So stand with courage, even when it feels uncomfortable. Trust His timing and His placement.

You are here for such a time as this, and He will give you everything you need to fulfill your calling.

Lord, help us trust that You have placed us exactly where we are for a reason. When we feel uncertain or inadequate, remind us that Your plans are intentional and Your grace is sufficient. Give us the courage to walk in obedience, the faith to trust Your timing, and willing hearts to say yes to You. May our lives bring glory to You—for such a time as this. Amen.
