RESET: A Lent Journey

Week 7: RESET To New Life

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”—Romans 6:4

In this verse, Paul explains that true spiritual transformation happens at salvation. Like Christ’s resurrection, believers receive a new life.

We began this journey with a simple invitation: to pause, make space, and let God reset what has gradually drifted away. Along the way, He has been faithful to meet us through surrender, repentance, releasing, and even in the waiting.

Preparing us for what lies ahead.

If we’re honest, this hasn’t just been a season of reflection — it’s been a season of uncovering.
Of noticing where we may have held on too tightly, relied on ourselves, or needed to turn back again.

At the heart of our faith is this unwavering truth: Jesus rose from the dead.
And because He lives, everything is different.

Scripture reminds us in Romans 6:4 that just as Christ was raised from the dead, we can also live a new life—always rooted in our salvation but constantly moving forward in change and growth.

This is what we’ve been getting ready for during this Lenten series.

Not just to lay things down—but to step into something new.

Growing up as a young farm girl in western Kansas, I saw it this way: sometimes, the fields looked empty—tilled and broken, with nothing growing.

To a passerby, it might have seemed desolate… even abandoned.

But I knew better.

That ground wasn’t empty — it was being prepared.
The plowing, breaking, and clearing… none of it was wasted.

It was necessary.

Because you can’t introduce new life without first creating space for it.

And maybe this season has been about preparation for you.

I know that’s been true for me. This entire Lenten journey has been meaningful—a quiet reminder that God is always working, even in places that seem slow or unseen.

And now, because He lives, we don’t have to stay where we have been.

This is our invitation: not only to believe in new life but also to choose to continue living it.
To move away from what was and fully embrace the new life Christ secured through His resurrection.

New places of growth and change.

Lord, grant us the courage to choose the new life You have placed before us—and the faith to walk in it.
